Admirably located in the famous Regional Natural Park of Boucles de la Seine Normande, at the gateway to the estuary and the Côte de Grâce – cradle of Impressionism -, in one of the most beautiful villages in Normandy, this pretty thatched cottage set with country hedges is placed like a nest on the bank, between a wide and beautiful river, and the sumptuous forest of Brotonne.
This cottage embodies traditional Normandy. It is built on a base of stones from the limestone quarries of the Seine valley and flint found in the clay pockets; the structure is covered with a thatched roof topped with irises. The balanced combination of these materials, with natural shapes and colors, harmoniously connects the habitat to the surrounding landscape.
The house has undergone a complete and refined renovation aimed at enhancing light, space, and well-being; the know-how of the craftsmen and the passion of the current owners have made it possible to preserve the character of the place, while providing it with modern comfort. The reception area, with generous volumes, is presented as a bow facing the river on which many openings offer a breathtaking view from east to west. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms, one of which faces south with a balcony with a panoramic view of the Seine, and 2 bathrooms. The northern part houses a studio with an independent entrance.
Around the cottage is a 3,000 m² garden with trees and flowers with a play of light and shadow, where sunny spaces follow shady passages; green lawns, wisteria, sculpture plants, the garden is connected to the landscape whose panoramas appear framed by the foliage of the trees.
A holiday resort with a timeless atmosphere, just 1h30 from Paris and 40 minutes from the beaches of Deauville.
